Beltane

Happy May Day, happy International Workers' Day and happy Beltane!

Beltane is a fertility and fire festival celebrating the beginning of summer. Historically cattle were driven between two bonfires as a magical means to protect them from disease.

You can celebrate by having a bonfire, decorating a bush, often hawthorn, or decorate your home with flowers and ribbons and, of course, you could dance around a maypole. If a bonfire isn’t feasible, lighting a fireplace or even just a candle in your home is also appropriate.
